          Vladimir Lazarev: Vladimir Lazarev was born in Russia, in a small village near Rostov-on-Don, in 1904.

          He attended public school in Rostov until he was 16 years old. He joined the Imperial Army during the Russian Revolution. Later, after recovering from shrapnel wounds, he studied engineering in the University of Czecho-Slovakia.
